Just last sunday @ grandma's, little gigi was getting a tad bit too excited over the birthday cake, wanted to help put the candles on, and made a big fuss over lighting it.

It's such an irony how I could tell a 3 year old that... yet I couldn't practise what I preach. I've always pride myself on being very discerning, sentient, careful, head >> heart, and the list goes on. So...... What happened???

But all's good now :) This and that, wouldn't kill me.

I remember watching the finale of The OC 4 years back... And thinking that it had the best song for a perfect ending. An ending... And I'll leave it as that. Gotta suck it up.

IF TIME IS ALL I HAVE

What a wrong choice of song to be listening to at 2am. You know, something along the lines of a famous saying that goes, 2am is the weakest time of your heart, mind and soul......... Haha! Ok so the saying came from Yours Truly, but trust me it is definitely credible. Anw, I love listening to live performances. I'd choose youtubing them anytime over listening to the CD version. I know some performances can be so overkill sometimes... (Cracked voices crowd shrieking all) But for me it's precisely these imperfections which make them perfect. Haha I am weird like that. In my defense, I quote Haruki Murakami "...a certain type of perfection can only be realized through a limitless accumulation of the imperfect..." Hear Hear! Such wise words from a wise man.

Speaking of this wise man, he is the best!!! I've been online reading his quotes, his interviews, "Ten things you need to know about Haruki Murakami" etc etc... He is utterly amazing. Maybe it's only me, but I find a man who can write incredibly sexy. Best friends should know how much I love writing... Emails. Letters. Postcards. Or how freaking excited I am receiving them. You've no idea. Like a 3 year old opening her first ever christmas present.

My sis recently introduced this book to me, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro... I'm only into the first chapter and I'm officially hooked. I am so excited to finish it. Even more excited to get my butt down to Starbucks tmr because I reckon caramel macchiato would go well with it. Well these days... I absolutely love spending my days like this. It's refreshing. I know I'm young and I should be out there, having the time of my life. Drinking vodka, getting fuzzy, and erm.. shuffling? But nah, nothing like that. I'm actually living the life of an old hag. In my defense, my horoscope (yes I am that lame) this month on Her World says, You'll be pleasantly surprised to learn that you love your own company... Geminis should spend some time on their own to think... You see??? I cannot run away from the truth. But fret not friends, because it also wrote "Expect an energy boost and an increased libido after the 21st" Haha! This is so fun. I should really have my horoscope read every month.

We were merely Freshmen

Can't believe that on the very last day of my uni life, I still make mistakes only a stupid freshie will make. "The exam is at 1pm!!! Confirm chop plus stamp." The entire MPSH was empty. Nic checked her phone. Rolled her eyes. Sigh. I don't deserve to graduate.

Well anyway a conversation with a friend today went like this... Not exactly a friend, an acquaintance. Hence, the small talk.

"I'm more excited about the Royal Wedding than the General Elections."

And his reply? "Wah seriously you're such a bimbo."

Big mistake. Huge cardinal mistake. Because firstly, not being excited about the GE does not mean that I've zero knowledge on it. Nor does it make me intellectually inadequate to take on any political argument (which I believe I can, anytime. And which I pointed out). 2) Kate Middleton is gorgeous, classy and I love her hair. Prince Charles is probably the only guy on earth who can pull off the bald look. David Beckham was there. Anyone who is disinterested in the wedding does not know how to appreciate the finer things in life (Which I too pointed out) 3) I haven't had lunch. Shit paper. 4 hours of sleep. Bad hair day. Pre-mences. Foul mood. So don't piss me off (Totally pointed that out).

I spent the last hour or so watching the heartwrenching situation and videos in Japan on youtube. I teared, and told my dad how sorry I feel for the Japanese people. I don't know why either, that lately I have been such an emotional drama queen. Yes I know I've always been a crybaby, but more so this time round. I can watch the Tsunami sweep away houses, cars, smashing everything in its way, and I'll cry... And even when drey told me last night about her schoolmate passing away suddenly, my heart just got so heavy I had to stop myself from tearing in the bus.

Maybe life and its uncertainties are really getting to me... I have never felt this way before but they scare me. They really do.

I was inside this cafe having cheesecake & coffee but decided to brave the damn weather to sneak a pic... Just had to show everyone the place that serves the BEST cheesecake I've ever tried. Totally melts in your mouth... Light and fluffy. I would give anything everything to be back there.

Anyway, contrary to my previous post... (Why did I sound so depressed? Haha I'm sorry I have quite a bad case of PMS) I've been feeling really blessed hehe. Here's to more good times & good news coming my way...

Can I just say that I love Japan??? I love everything about it... Except its cold. I absolutely hate winter!!! I mean, one hour of falling snow all over my freezing face is fine, but the entire freaking day? Not my cup of tea. Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself to the T. Sashimi, Shio butter ramen, Hokkaido's Ishiya white chocs, Sapporo Beer & a street full of damn chio girls made up for the disgusting weather. And I'd definitely be back for more of Tokyo very very very soon!! Any takers??? :)

Over the Lights of Sunset and Vine,

Su and I spent our last night ever in hall chatting over Carlsberg, and our take-in sushi platter, Swiss rolls and choco bun. It was a rainy gloomy night, and the entire setting was a little melodramatic... Haha! Sigh, I don't wanna grow up. 21 is a perfect age to be at, and I want to be forever 21. Well you can act dumb and do idiotically stupid stuff and blame it on being ONLY 21 (hey not even a quarter century old), but you can also roll your eyes and go "Grrr young punks these days............" you know act wise and smart? Like you've been there, done that. Apart from having my own babies, and that's the only exception, I am not at all looking forward to growing old.

Totally irrelevant, but Harry Potter was soooo good, totally did justice to the book I hope part II doesn't disappoint. Oh in case you're wondering.. yes I'm a huge HP fan!!!

I have the sudden urge to blog. This space has been empty for way too long a time. Caught a little of the fireworks @ MBS last night. The resort is just... Too gorgeous. Couldn't believe myself that this tiny little island has become such a beautiful city. Meryl and I are planning to make our way down to Shanghai come end year. Cannot wait to simply be awe-ed because SH is just world-class. Well, something to keep me going amidst school. So, come dec come!!

The Tavern Pub & Restaurant

Hansel took me to The Tavern on my birthday for a dinner treat & I fell in love with the place! It was quiet, cosy & perfect for a date out with my very doting boyfriend. Anyway we stuffed ourselves silly with the dinner set meal which cost $150+ each... Abit pricey but it was honestly worth it.

The very gorgeous interior. Intricately done.

We started off with the appetizers. 1) Pan-fried Goose with Caramelized Pear and 2) Hokkaido Scallop and Asparagus with Avocado Sauce. The Foie Gras was... awesome.

Our Soup - Lobster Bisque. Not a big fan though.

Angel Hair Pasta; Tossed in Truffle Oil and Garlic Flakes. Best friends should know how much I love pastas!

Our Main Course. 1) Grilled Prime U.S. Rib Eye Steak; baked Idaho-potato and 2) Baked Cod Fish and Grilled Prawns. The Cod Fish was extremely thick and it just melts in your mouth!

Our Desserts! It was nothing special, just the usual Apple Strudel and Fresh Mango Pancake. But I was delighted to the max.

It's the 15th again, so Happy 16th Month Baby!

The 21st was a very blessed one. Can't wait to get the pictures up! Internship's starting in about a week or two's time... I'll miss lazing around town with drey or dropping by Raffles Place for lunch with Hansel, dinner dates with friends etc. But it's good to have work to keep myself occupied. For now, I'll do maximum catching up with friends. Abso-freaking-lutely can't wait for my Aussie girls to be back within the month!

Some pictures of my China trip back in dec (: It was really, a winter wonderland. And because I was in the Szechuan Province for a few days, I had the best chilli there!!! EVERYTHING was with chilli, it was awesome to the maximum I swear! Daddy bought like 20 bottles of chilli back from their supermarket to give away... everyone loves it. The Best. I went to China's very own version of The Alps & the Mont Blanc Mountain, the scenery was gorgeous, my breath was literally caught at that moment (& wished Hansel was there with me). They also have the cutest chubbiest babies with red rosy cheeks and fat exposing bottoms! I craved for starbucks every single minute there because of the hideously cold disgusting weather, hot sweet hazelnut latte was a saving grace. Awesome possum time with my family, the solids, the constants in my life.

As daddy always tells us, whatever that may come and go, always remember that it starts and ends with family.

The first day of school...... and we do silly stuff like that.

Anyway, with regards to my previous image heavy post, I have random people asking the camera I'm using because quality of pictures are really good! But I have to clarify that not all the pictures are from my cam.. the ones with Hansel were taken with his DSLR, which probably explains the ultimate sharpness (captures even my pores!!). Haha, I'm using the Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD. It's definitely bulkier than the usual digital camera, but it's gorgeous and I love it!

Chrismukkah......

Potluck dinner at qi's place saw us having an overdose of food food & more food, great laughs, the awesome gift exchange & just good quality time spent with each other. We had so much retarded fun over multiple camera shots, our very own "freestyle" version (Omg val was the ultimate retard! Hahaha) & the present-giving ceremony with our very idiotic *drumroll* sound effects. Love you girls x10000000 to the maximum!!

This was Christmas Eve... We did absolutely nothing but hopping to a thousand and one places to eat! Still, an awesome time with the boyfriend <3

We had dinner at Chijmes, then headed down to Timbre for their drinks & music! Sigh, I miss my long hair already just by looking at the pictures! Dinner at yl's newly renovated place... Love the house! We had dinner at her balcony, & played the highly exciting Bingo game (Cheap thrill I know) which saw Becky robbing us all of our money! Haha, so she stepped into the New Year twenty bucks richer... Still extremely sore because Jm and I were the runner-ups!

1st Jan saw us watching Avatar 3D (hence the picture with us in hideous goggles), awesome awesome show! It was completely fascinating... the imagination about the Pandora world and all. My little cousin came up to me last sunday & told me his newest ambition was to become an avatar (it was previously spiderman ha ha ha ha ha).

The bestf... <3 Which part of this picture isn't pretty?!?! Haha, she kept whining about how ugly she looks & what a bad photographer I was. I insist it's such a pretty picture! I love my cam btw, the night shots are really sharp & good!

So Hansel and I decided to have our very own little candlelight dinner with dishes all cooked by ourselves! I'm proud to say, our meal was a very satisfying one (: We had steak, portobello mushrooms grilled with cheese & bacon (Omg superb!!!) & potato salad (proudly done by the boyfriend himself)!

The gift I got for him. Super glad he loves it so much he wears it all the time, even to trainings!

We headed down to Sentosa after dinner, just strolling along the beach & enjoying the night seabreeze. Purely therapeutic (: Love you baby!

Dawn and I headed down to Prive for our last shot at such relaxation before school & the mad wreck crack starts (inserts shitty face) I love that place! I could really live like that forever, and eating eggs benedict every single day. Lets keep our promise to retire by 40 & have breakfasts there every other day together D (:

Drinks & just chilling out at my poolside... before sh flies back to Aussie. Amazing time chatting under the stars. Love you girls to the moon and back.

So these are my last few days in '09 & the week into 2010, awesome awesome time with my friends. I am absolutely looking forward to the New Year! I feel good about '10, even though there would be so much more responsiblities & committments, but I've learnt to take unpleasant stuff in my stride. One step at a time. Felt queasy when I saw the event on facebook. But I should have anticipated this all along, when I made the decision to leave hall seven months ago. It's been only five days into the New Year, but I'm already finding it hard to keep up with my resolution for the year : Be contented (with whatever I have). Sounds easy? Nah. Not so much for me. I know, there is something incredibly wrong with me!

I am having fever on/off and the flu which glues me to the bed 24/7. Extremely glad though, I dragged myself out of bed to meet the bestf for Teppanyaki dinner (The Best!!) & our stroll down Orchard Rd. You know those amazing conversations that will set you thinking all about it through the bus journey home? Only with you qi (: Tomorrow I am having a hot date with Hans (I am gonna cook for him!) & meeting Dawn & Clar the next few days... & hopefully yl for sushi buffet too! Be contented, I'd say.

Snapped off a bulk of my hair JUST for the new year. Because you know theres the saying, "fresh look for a fresh start", something along those lines. Haha and no! I didn't make that up, I'm pretty sure I heard it somewhere before...... ANYWAY, mixed feelings about the haircut, seems to make my face look a little rounder (as if it isn't round enough) but the boyfriend loves it, so I guess that makes up for everything else (: And you know, hair will grow. Haha, desperate pleas to console myself! Christmas was great, with house parties & good dinners, great ambience, presentsssssss & the post-Christmas sales!! Pictures up soon I promise. Batam was great in every single way, we had hydro baths, foot scrubs, foot, neck, & shoulder massages, with a gorgeous seaview right in front of us and our own private spa room! The wooden chalet we stayed in was on sticks with a balcony facing the ocean.. The seafood we ate there was a huge feast but wasn't all that fantastic though, we had a city tour guide bringing us all around the island, watching local cultural shows & shopping at the Batam mega mall... It was purely relaxing (: It was an awesome 3 days, couldn't have been happier.

Midnight flight tonight! Looking forward to skiing, snow snow snow, lots of XLBs & a good time with my family. Will be back on the 18th, just in time for christmas & NYE! That is, if I don't come back weighing 5kg heavier hahaha.

Friday Night In Neon Lights

Contrary to my previous post, I had a super awesome night out with the girls! Glad to know that despite everyone's busy schedule, we always make time for each other... (: The ambience at giraffe was really good, & noone really cared how loud we laughed, shrieked and screamed. Haha, always that case especially with val & drey around, right??? Abso-freaking-lutely cannot wait for our party on the 26th! It's gonna be so so fun.

Sg's getting really boring so Hans and I will be going on a short vacation next week. I'm looking forward 'cos my body's screaming for some well-deserved massages and spa therapy! And hopefully get some manicure & pedicure done there too.. My body and soul needs the rejuvenation, really.

I'm getting really sick of my hair. Sooooo very tempted to cut it short! Haha, it was supposed to be Dawn and I's year-end plan but you know what? I think I'm gonna chicken out in the end hahahaha. Totally excited to see you in your new hairstyle though, I'm sure you'll look gorgeoussssss D (: You and drey are gonna look more alike than ever!

My dad's out sailing for a week now. Just wish sometimes, I have half the energy and zest he has. I cannot even complete 1/4 of the 42km marathon he's gonna do. I am really getting frail and weak, help!!! I must, I will, I have to hit the gym tomorrow. I promise.

It was my nephew, matt's one-year-old birthday party today! Can't believe I'm an aunt now (: I thought the public holiday was well spent with the big family at Aloha, I see gigi every weekend but I just can't get enough of her. You know I'm really thankful I have 'Sunday Dinner At Grandma's' every weekend. Being in hall made me realise how much I really am very attached to my family. Mom will give me random calls just to check on me, & daddy's "Ping, come home for dinner tonight. Cooked your favourite grilled salmon fish." Hansel always tells me how awesome it is to have an extended family as close as mine is... I definitely am grateful. Because I know come what may, I have a whole load of close ones to fall back on.

What was supposed to be a dazzling night out at Mount Faber's Jewel Box saw us heading back home at an early evening hour of 8pm. I am just way too tired, way too drained. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise afterall... with toasted butter popcorn, thai tom yam, watching friends, carrot juice & shrek ears, glad I have someone to lean on amidst such exhaustion. No dazzles, but it was a good lazy night.

I have been feeling so disorientated the entire week. Just what am I thinking? It's so hard to have a break to myself because of my many other social obligations. Obligations I wish sometimes, I'd rather not have. I know I shouldn't be thinking this way.. but I can't help it. I hope I'm doing myself more good than harm by channeling every bit of energy I have to my work, my projects, my deadlines. Afterall, it's week09, NUS hectic period of the semester. Viva Las Vegas

Sooooooooo, that was it. A few months of planning, bash @ zouk, our One night stand.. Then there was the pre-dnd event, Halfway to Vegas. Somehow, I can't quite believe it's over. Mixed feelings. Definitely relieved, 'cos by the final week.. I was so exhausted all I wanted so terribly was for it to just end right there. But there's also that kind of sadness lingering. Afterall, it had been months of planning, stressing, meetings, & more meetings. Pretty much also ends my one last final commitment to hall, I gave all I could... Just hope everyone thought it was a good one, 'cos I sure thought it was (:

It's the 21st again. So happy "eleventh" baby.. (: Never showed much, never said once but - you've been amazingly wonderful to me, for giving me unconditional support, the encouragement I always need "press on, it's only a week more baby" & just staying by my side whenever you can.. School's only in the 4th week but it's been sucking up whatever energy I have. I know, I'm a little "unhealthy & frail & weak for a 20 year old" (in daddy's words). Stairs after stairs are a killer at the arts fac. Whenever I'm done with a flight of stairs I feel like, "thats it. I have no more energy left for my 2 hours lecture." Not funny. Mental note: I gotta gym soon!!! 5-day week timetable this semester, no jokeeee. But it's good, 'cos school keeps me busy & I actually pretty much like that...(: Two more weeks to Dnd. Viva Las Vegas has gotta be a success, after nearly 4 months of planning. Speaking of which, bash @ zouk was wild!! Pictures soon I promise.

Said the hearts all over the world tonight

it's nearly august. That set me thinking.. whatever happened to the summer holidays?! It's amazing how time flies when I'm having sooo much fun, when I'm intoxicated with happiness. But I foresee august to be a great month, with BASH @ ZOUK coming right up. It is also afterall, the birthday month of 3 important people in my life (: Speaking of bash, well im pretty excited about it! For the amount of work the team has to do for the mere 2 hours event.. but I say, worth every minute every cent spent every ounce of effort put into it. The team is getting pretty tight, it's nice to see everyone giving in their best for the event. I'm praying everything goes according to plan till Dnd in sept. Come then, I hope everyone will have a blast.

Of a love that could never quite fade

I know I haven't blogged in the longest time.. but everytime I sit down & try to write about the day I had, nothing even comes close.

The summer break has been.. well, totally totally awesome. It wasn't the party-till-you-drop kind of awesome but more on the good food, great conversations, amazing company side. With mab, us driving all around town searching for the best ice cream, with clar & our coffee addiction, the six of us.. "we're growing up so fast!!" conversations, 13 DYING hours with kitty, my f&f girls and our mini party at dawn's place, dawn & qi at our usual TCC, drey nicky i miss you guys!, with bernice stella olivia & lilyan back (: and of course, with hansel.. many many breakfasts, night picnics, going for walks, having movie marathons, stuffing ourselves silly with food.. So you see, I've been insanely happy, piling up on the kilos with all that food but still, incredibly, insanely happy.

I'm approaching the new sem with mixed feelings. I don't know if it was a wise decision leaving hall life behind, but I believe it would be. Afterall, there are friendships made in there I reckon will last a lifetime (: Right V??? One last thing though. For the bash at zouk & dnd to be a success. Heading pageant this year, I'm actually pretty excited about it.

Busy weeks up ahead. Dnd will be keeping me on my toes, hall orientation, and then it will be the mad school rush. But no complains there, looking forward to whatever's in store for me.

I just got off the phone with hansel. It's amazing how we can talk for hours, and still have so much left to say. I love how he understands me without having to try, how easily we can read each other's thoughts, smacks on the back & yell "I knew you were going to say that!", how we snuggle up with ice cream & chips & talk about our family, our friends, our future, our dreams. Hearing hans speak, looking at his expressions, his eyes, it'll get me all teary because I know he doesn't always open up to just anyone and he opening up so much of his heart to me, showing me his life, letting me into his world, I've never felt like this in a long time but I'm truly the luckiest girl alive(:

I can't believe my body's failing me at the age of 20. My body has been cueing me sick on-off for an entire week, after the genting trip to be precise.. So even with all the amazing friends & the celebrations I had all week, I couldn't enjoy to the maximum. But still, the B week was awesome (: I'll update on it soon! Heres some best friend loving...

Genting was awesome (: the weather was sooooooo good omg i could live there forever, we ate endlessly at every chance we got & I couldn't ask for better company. Honestly, we spent 99% of our money on food.. on starbucks (it was everywhere!!), on coffee bean, on the expensive baskin robbins ice cream, on mcdonalds, on cup noodles at 2am, thank goodness the trip was only 3 days ...... any longer I would have weighed 60 kg no kidding. We spent an entire day at the theme park, I wasn't at all loser101 i swear but more like the 3 of them were bravesouls102!! Favourite ride of the day was err, riding little ponies & sitting on carriages with other 3 year olds hahaha. Highlight of the entire trip: dawn's high-pitched shrieks & screams at the fish spa. Now everyone say, loooosseeeeeeeerrrrr!

last night saw us hopping from timbre @ substation to hooters (the hall king ogling at hot girls) & the clinic at clarkequay to timbre again @ the arts house & finally to esplanade at 3am. Ruth: this is like the amazing race! talks along the way, cheers to drinks, to good music.. & awesome company(: Shopping & manicure in the afternoon with drey, strolling down orchard & talking just about everything anything.. i wouldn't have chose to spend my friday in any other way. Brewerkz up next, with the usual friday gang.. looking forward to ice-cold afternoon beer.

Just got back from zouk & I'm so so glad the night's over cos I'm plain exhausted, all I wanna be is home sweet home. Imprompt-3 won the stardust finals, no fight honestly they were awesome. Line of the day (ruth/kenrick/leon): "what now?!?!" Bunch of super indecisive & greedy people, because final decision will always see us landing up at some place eating. I finally moved out of hall today. I'll definitely miss hall so much, those late night suppers (4 girls to a mini pot & growing fat together), screaming down the A2 corridor + visits from alla pitchay(: I was unpacking the stuff in my room just now & i smiled at those little post-sticks the swines used to stick on my door awww! Besides the fact that my new phone's touch screen sensitivity is highly annoying, camera functions are pretty good though (: can't expect much since daddy got it for free. Super glad I met the girls yest for coffee, and we witnessed drama first-hand VIP view! it was such a perfect way to spend my afternoon, even though I had to study for my midterm this morning. Chasing Pavements

This was the night of my countdown to '09.. I remember praying for the new year to be awesome & lots & lots of other stuff, but right now all I want to pray is for daddy to be fine cos I love you daddy. To my two girls in the picture: I miss youuuuuuuuu guys (& our 4days a week routine during the 8-month long holiday..) I miss that but I miss you guys even more. I know I'm online more often than I should be (when I've two mid-terms coming up), but that's only because my happy pills come in the form of emails. Been exhausted from multiple trips to GGM's wake. I think being at a funeral's a really sad thing, regardless of how close you are to the person. Just hope mom's okay.. I don't think I'll ever be able to get used to the idea of death, doubt anyone ever will.

Halloween was fantabulous. I had the best company ever (P.S: I hope you liked the halloween gift X!), cookies&cream ice cream at 2am, the movies, 5am macs breakfast & finally, to my bed at 8am that morning with the perfeeeccct rainy weather.. it was just awesome and I felt so happy, couldn't have asked for more (:

Okay, so lots of changes lately. But I'm embracing them pretty well.. because I know, you know, it's short-term and well, I need this okay?? So cut me some slack. I know I'm insane and one day things might just fall apart (and hence, me) but.. I'll deal with that when it comes.

Why does it always seem like the weekends pass by so quickly?

Nonetheless, mine have been awesomexz! I've had American Breakfasts on both mornings how lovely. 1)Richie's birthday brunch, and we all gave each other missed calls at an unearthly hour of 6+ am. And i got blasted fuckeroo at 640 but i still love you regardless D (: Val (surprise surprise!) was early, and so was I, now who dares doubt credibility in the both of us again?! And then we played one of drey's stupid games, but stupid people like us got hooked onto it for about an hour or so hahaha. Everywhere, anywhere. Everything, anything, we all are. 2)Cartel breakfast at Siglap with J, awww i miss Siglap so damn much & mornings are as nice as it is in the night. And of course, the company. I don't think both of us can ever leave this place, because we've practically been dating (hahaha) there since sec 1. Seven years now, but nothing's much changed.

The exams are comingggg. But well, so are the holidays! So theres something to look forward to. I'm alive these days because of the same old constants.. & inconstant, but at least it's short-term happiness. I love the year ends.. doesn't everyone?!?!
